Chocolate Ganache Dream

CHOCOLATE GANACHE DREAM (aka Molten Lava Cake)

(see the bottom of this post to learn how to enter to win a free Bakersware® pan this weekend!)

Do you ever crave one of those molten lava cakes at your favorite restaurant, but don’t want to pay the $6 or more to enjoy one? Now you can make them at home! Bakersware’s Mini Fluted Bundt pans are perfect for creating this delight, for about one-tenth of the price in a restaurant, and they are so simple and easy to make! Perfect for birthdays, holidays, or special occasions like Father’s Day!

  • Mix one boxed cake mix according to directions.
  • Pour batter into six Bakersware® Mini Fluted Bundt pans that have been lightly sprayed with cooking spray or olive oil.
  • Bake 20-22 minutes or until done in the center.
  • Remove from oven, let cool for five minutes.
  • With pan upside down, slightly lift one side of the pan until you feel the cake release, then lift entire pan up to release cake.

To make a pourable chocolate ganache for easy frosting:

  • Heat 1 cup heavy cream to boiling. Remove from heat.
  • Add 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate pieces to cream and stir until melted and creamy.
  • Pour ganache over cakes.
  • Garnish with fresh raspberries, strawberries, ice cream, whipped cream, mousse, or any toppings of your choice.

To create the Molten Lava Cake featured at Chili’s restaurant, follow these easy steps:

  • Drizzle the plate decoratively with caramel sauce.
  • Place a warm mini bundt cake in the middle of the plate.
  • Place a large scoop of vanilla ice cream in the center of the cake and press lightly into the well.
  • Cover ice cream with hard-shell chocolate topping, serve, and enjoy.
